Rogers Inducted into Energy Efficiency hall of Fame

The U.S. Energy Association (USEA) inducted Duke Energy CEO Jim Rogers into its Energy Efficiency Forum Hall of Fame in June 2009.

The USEA, an association of public and private energy-focused organizations, corporations and government agencies, recognized Rogers and other industry leaders “who make energy efficiency their personal and professional passion.”

Rogers’ advocacy for electric industry regulatory reform was cited as a key reason for his induction. Under his leadership, Duke Energy proposed a regulatory model that provides utilities with an incentive to more aggressively pursue energy efficiency.

Rogers was also noted for his efforts to advance energy efficiency nationally, including his work as co-chair of the Alliance to Save Energy, a non-profit coalition that promotes energy efficiency as a cost-effective alternative to building new power plants.
