Power reliability: Always a Priority
Our customers expect energy that is affordable, clean – and reliable. Because reliability is a top priority, we continuously aim to reduce the number of power outages per customer and the duration of outages when they do occur.
Our power reliability performance in 2009 placed us in the top quartile among peer electric utilities, based on 2008 Southeastern Electric Exchange data (the most recent available). Fortunately, we were spared from severe weather in 2009, which hampered our results in 2008. Ongoing efforts to replace equipment and upgrade our aging transmission and distribution systems also helped us improve reliability.
