Environmental Leadership Recognition

Duke Energy received the following awards in 2009:

• The Green Energy Ohio Recognition Award for our promotion of energy efficiency and renewable power
• The South Carolina Wildlife Federation’s 2009 Industrial/Commercial Conservationist Award in honor of Lee Steam Station, which became the 11th Duke Energy facility to achieve Wildlife and Industry Together (WAIT) certification as a result of our environmental protection and education work
• The Clean Air Works Sustainability Award for our support of public transportation in and around Charlotte, N.C.
• The National Wild Turkey Federation’s Energy for Wildlife Corporate Achievement Award for funding habitat restoration projects and supporting public access on company properties.
